The Sound Of Music New York Theatre reviews
Amazing performance, horrible parking
Sound of music was exquisite!
Fantastic play, with all the great songs we love. It was nice because the play had a few additions and variations from the movie. The sound was electrifying, and the voices as well as the acting were both amazing. I would definitely recommend this show to all ages. I'm a 29 year old female and enjoyed it immensely with a few of my friends. Drury Lane theater has much more comfortable seats than any other theater in the Chicagoland area, so that is a definite plus as well. Width and plenty of legroom. A+ show in my book! Just be sure you sit at least three seats in from the edge and you will be fine.
Toby's Baltimore is a big pass
I took my girlfriend to see Sound of Music for her birthday and it was not a good experience. The food was terrible. It was bland. No effort was put into making it. The portions were small. The would only give you one slice of meat. Not much of a buffet.
The show itself was not that great either. There were a lot of sound problems, stage rigging messed up once between scenes, a curtain ripped. There was also some dance club next door and you could hear the bass of the music through wall during the performance. Even the actors said it was going terribly during the show as one of them was caught with a open mic saying that when she was backstage for audience to hear.
